A few weeks ago I had a guy come to the ranch to video tape a Muzzleloading hunt for a TV show, He explained to me that he was very knowledgable about Whitetail. The cameraMan had just got back from Novia Scotia filming a Moose and bear Hunt.
I had over 10 Ground Blinds set up for them all over the Ranch, and the first day before the Hunt I took him to the spots. He then in turn decided he wanted to build a blind right on the creek Bed. The Problem, He put it right on a Main trail, His back pack was on the trail itself.
He then a few days later went to an area I had also set up, but he saw a Scrape by this tree and decided to build a blind under the same tree 4' from the scrape.
After 7 days of No luck I told him I would push a Milo field for him and told him where to set up.
I pushed the field and kicked out a Nice 12 Pointer, waiting for a shot, I heard nothing. When I got to then end of the field they were nowhere to be found.
He decided to set up 100 yards away on a Fenceline.
Had he of set up where I told him He would have gotten a Nice monster. 180-190.
Tough Luck, Next Time maybe he'll listen to his Guide. He may have been Book Knowledgable but no Hunting Sense.
