Default Info on Kansas outfitters

I'm going to be applying for kansas for '09 and am looking for a good outfitter to go through. Be there for opener and must provide meals and lodging.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm looking for a semi diy hunt.

I'm no outfitter, just a very satisfied customer. I've hunted the last 3 years with Triple Creek Outfitters in St John, KS. Richard is the best guide I've hunted with, and I've hunted with several over the years. Just got back from a very successful bowhunt with Richard. Out of 7 guys that were there--everyone of us had a chance at deer over 140". 6 of 7 got a nice buck. PM me if you want more details about the set-up.

Always call references. Any outfitter worth his salt will supply numbers from both successful and unsuccessfull hunters for you to talk with. Alot of outfitters can talk a good game on the phone and are good at selling themselves. Location is very imprtant in Kansas. Make sure there lands are on the big creeks or rivers, that where the big bucks are. All should have a website with plenty of pictures but don't let fancy pages full you. Great lodging is always a plus with good food. Motels also work but usually means the outfitter is not very well established. Spend your money wishly, theres good ones out there but theres also a bunch of overnighters who will screw you. After you've looked around, check out www.DSOoutdoors.com

Let there clients speek for them about the hunting, lodging, food, and overall operation.

Good luck
