Oilskin Backpack

Howdy all,

I'm looking for an oilskin day pack that's under $100. Anyone know of any? I've found one cheapo ChiCom one on ebay, and one "waxed canvas" one that was over $200. Niether of these will work for me.

Anyone know of one?

Also, in lieu of buying one, I thought about making my own by buying a canvas pack and using microwax on it. Will that work?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can download plans for backpack or Haversacks and with not a lot of trouble, make your own.
I made a leather haversack and a buddy saw it and liked it so much I ended up giving it to him. Go to Lowe's and buy a canvas painters drop cloth for less than $ 10 bucks and you will have enough to make several.
