Sorry for this..I usually am pretty calm.....but this REALLY gets me over the top.
BEWARE of the I-phone and apple corp. If you drop one and break the screen.....forget it. It will cost you dearly!!
My wife dropped hers three days ago and the screen broke....still functional, but cracked. We made an appt with the apple store in the Lakeside mall after speaking with a tech. According to the tech "as long as there is no water damage, we can replace the phone for $300" Ouch.......but do-able....I had been warned not to drop them....or else.
On to the long road trip to New Orleans to get our "deal" on a replacement phone.
Wife gets there......store tells her....you have water damage to your phone.....$600 for a new one. Wouldn't listen to a word she said...."can't help you that's our policy".
NO WAY that phone ever had water damage....maybe condensation from temperature changes...but that's it.
SO...BEWARE if you want one....as far as we are concerned, we will no longer purchase ANY apple product EVER again.
Not only did they NOT get our money...they just got the worst advertisement campaign they never had hoped for.
Our policy is..."Screw us once....Later".
Now switching over to a Blackberry for her...and paying a small penalty...but not $600.
Lesson learned...Thanks Apple....See ya!!

I just got a refund for cancelling a contract early from verizon.(if thats what you are referring to)
By law now they cannot charge you a penalty for cancelling a contract.
