Default Ruger Redhawk..I finally met a Gunslinger stand in person

Ruger, went to the Dixie Deer classic and had a chance to look at these stands. I saw stands I have never even heard about there so it was interesting.

OEH,I'm glad you finally saw one. It's a shame these shows aren't set up to let people try different stands.I think if you ever had the chance to climb with one you'd be a believer.I've seen JRH Sports at couple of shows. He sure brings allot of them to the shows. At Georgia's Buck-a-rama I saw people buying them left and right.I'm more then satisfied with mine and I recommend them highly.I've seen several GS's in the back of trucks in GA. They seem to be common there.

I saw one in Butler County, Al.- my cousin bought a used one. I sat in it (or reclined in it) and it was GREAT- but I am unable to find a dealer or web site for them. Any suggestions?

Ruger, I just found a post you submitted earlier through SEARCH-that gave the phone number for them. I will be giving them a shout on the land line

Beulahboy, Last time I talked to JRH they didn't have a website yet. They might by now.Call them and they'll send you a brochure. The Brochure really doesn't do it justice.Since you read the archives and found the other post. I'm sure you saw where they have a off season sale which is going on until the end of April. If you do buy one, have it shipped to AL and there is no sales tax.I see you're in Florida. They are to so you'll have to pay the sales tax.If you have any questions email or pm me.Put Gunslinger in the subject box.My finger goes crazy with the delete button.

THAAAATS RIGHT>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>
By the way, I should be getting my brochure from them tomorrow- I'll probably be ordering 2 stands- they say there will be a price increase in April due to rising steel prices. I can get the stands for 199.00 each with practically all the acessories, so I am excited to get it!

beulahboy, I think you're making a good move.I bought the 350# model. I got mine April of 03 and it was 209.00 plus 15.00 shipping. I have the receipt in front of me.I bought a second one in Georgia at the Buck-a-rama.Seems to me it was 20 or 30 dollars more. They are a great stand.I've hunted in pouring down rain. It grabs the tree and holds well even on a wet tree.I found the easiest way to put it on the tree is. Instead of trying to hold it. Rest it on the ground and push it against the tree. Maybe this will save you time. On approx 12" diameter trees I usually use the 5th hole.Allot of pines have a big base. The foot section will be at more then 45 degrees.Once you get past the bulge the foot section will level out. That will give you a starting point anyway. You'll find JRH doesn't supply straps from the seat section to the foot section. If it slips off your foot ,you'll probably lose the foot section. I took some old seat belts and made straps.Nylon rope will serve the same purpose.I called about that when I first got my first GS.His comment was if you put your feet in the straps and use the bungee cord you won't have a problem. That might be but I don't use the bungee. If you have any questions let me know. I'll be glad to help you.
