Default treestand advice

I am thinking about getting a tree stand. I would like to get a treestand with a ladder to put on my property and I would like to get on to pack around the woods. What type of ladderless tree stand have you had the best luck with. and how do you get the ladderless ones up in the tree and how do you get in it? Do you need a tree climbing set?

I've got an API and a Lone Wolf. I like the Lone Wolf much better. It's more quiet, roomier and easier to put up than the the API. Plus the LW has a separate hook that hangs on the tree. You put the hook up and hang the stand on the hook. With a number of hooks, you can have a number of pre-set stand sites. As far as placement, I have climbing pegs that screw into the tree. I carry 7 pegs. It usually is enough to get me as high as I want.

Check your state's regulations.Equipment that damages the trees are prohibited.Especially on public land.

Thanks i guess i left out a letter..... i mean't comfy.

I really have gotten into comfort and warmth lately. it's nice to get in a nice dry stand and fire up a heater and enjoy. i still like to climb a tree sometimes but hey you get older and have more money to buy toys. now i have a tractor to make food plots so they just come to me!

Oh and it's much easier to pour a cup of coffee in a nice box stand!
