Some time back I did a report on the Buckshot Equalizer climbing stand.
First, I am strictly a bow hunter so I prefer a stand that is easy to pack, grips the tree and has an unobstructed shooting platform. Buckshot does all that and more. There was a fault that I pointed out before. The Equalizer can be adjusted while climbing. One of the crank handles had to be removed and shifted to another position for back packing. I pointed out that sooner or later, the tiny screw would be lost. Well, I not only lost the screw, but I lost a handle immediately after losing the screw.
There was also a safety recall on the equalizer. The cable blocks were not within acceptable tolerance and an extremely heavy person could have possibly pulled a cable loose. I believe that there was one instance of this happening.
I would like to report that Buckshot expediently replaced the cable blocks without charge. Buckshot also redesigned the crank handles for adjusting the stand. They now fit in a permanent positon and do not have to be removed for back packing.
This stand is the most stable platform that I have ever used. It grips the tree so well that it gives you a feel as though it is permanent. You can put it up, take it down and have it ready for back packing within a minute. It weighs 22 pounds. The seat is moveable so you can either face the tree or face away.
This stand is a little pricy but what the heck, I'm worth it. Bottom line: I would not trade it for any stand on the market.
I own a centreshot and feel the same way. Anyone that has borrowed it has the same comment. One guy who is 6'6 and 260 absolutely loves it and feels secure high up in a tree with a wind blowing. he says it feels like it is screwed to the tree.

Thanks for the information on the equalizer. The one thing that I am concerned with is my size, I am 6'7" and weigh 300 lbs. I currently own a Goliath as my climber and it works great. I must say that after seeing the Equalizer at the Harrisburg show I am seriously considering buying it.
Whats the going price for the Equalizer in your area?
The weight is 350 I think. The cable blocks are tested to 600#.
I have a unique way of occasionally facing the tree with the seat moved to the outboard position. I then lean back and allow my harness to drape over a shoulder and put my feet up on the cables. It is almost as comfortable as my recliner.
I paid $329 for mine. The dealer has a price tag of $379. It has been worth every penny.
