Default Rattle bags Vs. Traditional antlers

For those who have used rattle bags and traditional antlers, which do you prefer?

Real antlers as it allows me to control the sequence better in tone/intensity as I grind them vs smash, rack trees, ground and just sounds more authentic to me.

Real Antlers or artificial antlers. They definately have a better sound to them, and as stated before, you can do alot more realistic things with them, like scratching tree bark, pounding the ground etc. Only draw back is that they are not as easy to pack in.

Big Bucks will not be fooled by a fake antler or rattling bag unless they have dementia or its the top product in the field. A fresh Real Antler produces the more realistic sound. Good Luck

I would have to disagree.

This buck was taken with a rattle bag this year on my land.

I have rattled many deceant bucks in with rattle bags. My other hunting partner Lives by his and has shot a P&Y buck every year for the last 7 years. They do work.

Are you going to tell me that a rattling bag sounds like a real fresh antler..it sounds very similiar to one but if the buck has been exposed to that before he may just learn to ignore it.

I am a pretty picky fella when it comes to my equipment and believe nothing can beat the real thing. i go with sheds to rattle with because I have the most conifdence in them and it allows me to scrape brush and the ground as well. I have never used a bag, they may be just fine but I am not as confident with them so i do not waste my time.

I use a rattle bag because of its ease to carry. I have used and rattled in bucks with both though.

Cut the tines down a little and cut the brow tines off, then soak it in water for a while. The water makes a big difference! Sounds like the real thing then, give it a try!

The main reason I use a rattle bag is for the ease that they can be carried compared to a fake or real set of large antlers. They also can be stored in your back pack and take up very little room as well. While I haven't called in probably as many bucks as some of you guys have, I did have success at the ones that did come in. Unfortunately, they weren't the caliber of buck that I wanted to shoot.
A rattle bag or even a real set of antlers for that matter, doesn't work 100% of the time. It all depends on the particular buck that hears that sound, and what mood he's in. I've seen many bucks actually turn towards the sound, but only to go back to what they were doing, which was crusing through at the time I spotted them.
