Lots of threads out there on this topic, but...

I OWNED a Tree lounge. I got it when I first started hunting. I loved it because I thought it was "cool". My buddy and I both got them. I was a beginner hunter who knew very little about hunting. I then learned how important it was to be quiet!!!!! The tree lounge IS VERY LOUD while climbing and decending. Setting up is a nigthmare. Again...it's loud, and you have these damn thumscrews to put in. It's more trouble than it is worth...at least in my opinion it was. I sold mine on ebay. I went out and investigated more and ended up with a summit. MUCH easier to set up. I can be up the tree by them time a person with a tree louge is connected to the tree and still on the ground, and I'd do it quieter. I feel very sdafe in the summit.

Pro's to the tree louge:

-VERY COMFORTABLE
-VERY SAFE (I felt safe anyway)

Cons to the TREE LOUNGE
-Loud
-loud
-loud
-pain to set up...and it's loud

Summit Pros
-very reputable company..not that tree louge isn't though
-Quiet as can be while climbing, decending, and settign up
-comfortable enough to sit for entire day
-I weigh 255 and can do it in mine. Not as comfortable as the tree louge but still comfortable...the tree lounge is a LAZY BOY. I fell asleep EVERY time I was in it.

The tree lounge is the most comfortable stand out there. However, for me, the trouble setting up and the noise wasn't worth the hassle. Summit all the way.

Ditto Justhrowit...I would avoid any TL that doesn't have square tubing..they had a terrible redesign a few years back but since then the company has been sold back to new owners.

I agree with Oldelkhunter. If you can find a old model Treelounge or the newly redesigned TL with the SQ Tubing it's a good climber. I have one one of the newly redesigned models which hasn't been on a tree yet. It probably won't as long as I have my Gunslingers.Being it almost identical to the original TL it should hold the tree well.I wouldn't give you 50 cents for a dozen of the new versions with the semi rounded extrusion. TL went to pot when it was sold to Rhett Spivia. Now that the original owners are back it should be a good company to do business with.On this same board is a topic about Treelounge. I would suggest reading the comments. It will probably help you make up your mind.

I've never used the TL, and have only looked on their web site. Have never seen one in person.

I have used a Summit Viper.

The thing that comes to mind is that the Summit (as well as almost all "conventional" climbers) allow you to hunt standing and have a 360 degree view. WIth the viper, you can easily move the seat as well as the foot loops out of the way and basically have a clear 360 degree platform to stand on.

With the seat down, back rest in place, and the optional fold out foot rest in place, my guess is that the seated position is as comfortable as the TL. It's awfully durn comfortable and nap-able

Just a thought - consider the stand up position each offers. It's important as overall sitting comfort, imho.

I've never had a TL but I do have a Viper, if the TL was any more comfy than my Viper I would spend more time sleeping than hunting.

I have used both stands quite abit older model treelounge and just got a new viper last season. Both are comfortable and stable ,but the viper is much easier to set up and easier to stand in for bow hunting. I am 6' and 225 and i feel safer standing on the viper to hunt . Will say this i use the tl to video tape and take pics just because i do sometimes fall asleep. For the money the viper is the ticket .stable , ultra quite and comfortable also easier to stand up in. Hope this helps.

I sold my TL two years ago because it was noisy and a pain-in-the-neck to set up in the dark. I bought a Summit Revolution and I love it.

My hunting partner has the "newly designed" TL... I just bought a Summit Viper X4, he climbed my Summit and is now selling his TL. The Summit is lighter, very quiet and quick to set up. You can't go wrong with a Summit
