Default Remington 12 ga Corelokt Ultra Sabots

Anybody try these yet? If so how are they, what did you shoot them out of?

I shot them out of my 12 ga. browning gold. Since remington usually loads their stuff a little hot they blew right through my target, but the federals and winchesters got stopped. But since they blew through I cant't tell you how they mushroomed. In a couple of weeks I will be able to shoot them again, into a thicker target of course, and I will post the results. They shot a little over an 1 1/4" at 50 yds. for me. They might shoot better for you. I'm now using Winchester Partition Gold's which shot under .5" at 50 yds.

Thanks. Guess I really don't care much about mushrooming with a slug that starts out at 50 cal, but I do want accuracy AND velocity. In my marlin 512, I can get super groups at 50 using the cheapest Win 2 3/4" sabot. The velocity is only 1350. The Coreloks are supposed to be 1700 or so. I'll give them a try I guess. Hornady H2K (1900 fps) were terrible in my gun.

I know that faster means more accurate at greater distances, but on the average , how many deer get killed over 100 yards? I've had experiences with a faster bullet that was going so fast it blew right thru but didn't open up or mushroom. So i opted for a slower model like a lightfield 2 3/4 and still got the job done. What ever you choose I wish you the best of luck.

I agree with lou-lou on the Lightfields. I took a black bear here in NJ in December it was a 50yrd shot, blew a nice hole, the bear ran 10yds. and it was down.

I know what you mean about the cheap winchester sabot's. I got just around an 1" at 50 yds with them. Those lead slugs really mushroom too.
