I think your friend was talking about the Grim Reaper, or the Reaper telescoping ladder and it has a saw attatchment. From what I have read on this and other websites they are out of buisness. I have tried their website and nothing comes up.

I remember seeing an advertisement about that stand in a catalog or magazine last fall. From what I remember, its a backpackable stand that extends up with a "scissoring" action. I may be wrong, but I think its from API. I remember how cool I thought it was, but it only went up maybe 12-14ft and thats not enough for me so I didn't research it anymore than that.

Thanks for all the replies, after more searching on Handles" Reaper " reply. I have what I think is the tree ladder that I have been looking for. It is from A.S.A.P., Inc. (American Sportsman Adventure Products) and is called the Reaper. Thanks again for all the help.

I don't think they make the reaper any longer, it was recalled and I think no longer in production.
