I have the sporttrac myself, the unit seems to work great. the Mapsend topo usa program that is available for downloading maps to the unit is pretty good, lacks some detail, but overall it does ok. it takes some getting used to in setting up the unit so i am sure you will be coming back here for further help.

You might as well copy and paste LeeinVa1's comments here as I agree with them 100%. I have a Sportrack Map as well and am very pleased with it. The topo software is more than adequate though does lack some specific info.

your kind of stuck with the mapsend program as far as downloading data to your unit. look around in your area, boat shops, walmart, etc, i have seen the programs for under 50 bucks. if all else fails, email me at lploof3939!@aol.com and i might be able to come up with a copy of it for you.
