Default trick for moving gun safe

champion gun safe finally came in this weekend so i had alot of work to do to get it into the house considering it weighs over 900#'s empty, dealer told be to use 3/4 or 1 inch pvc pipe underneath the safe to move it across the floor once inside (have hardwood floors throughout house) worked great used 5 32 inch pipes and its much easier to manage something that big, would recommend it.

Stairs might be a problem. As long as it's down, What about laying some planks on the stairs, and sliding

I imagine with wood floors...if you can get a moving blanket underneath it it would slide somewhat easy, as long as you push low on the safe and someone pulls the blanket

A few of us moved two safes a few weeks ago.. We had them on a ulitility trailer. The safes were up right. We used a ratchet strap and a furniture dolly. We strapped the dolly to the side of the safe. Carefully laid it on the dolly. The trailer has a drop gate We rolled it right off the trailer into the house. Not sure what these safes weighed but I would estimate 600-700 pounds. For a bigger or heavier safe two dolly's would probably make it a little easier.IMHO the furniture dolly is the ticket.

Thanks T roy, I'll keep this in mind if I'm not to feeble to remember.I didn't know my age showed that much. If it will make you feel better I'm adding another year on Sunday the 22nd.
