Communicating in the woods, and camp

I'm curious how many people bring radios with them of some kind to communicate with each other, or camp, and what they use?

Do you use FRS/GMRS radios? 2m/440 radios? Nothing at all? Do you bring something in that can reach the outside world?

The places around here, there was no such thing as a cell phone signal for the last 5 miles or more to camp. We took FRS/GMRS radios, and they worked, ok at best. Was able to reach the wife some distance, but didnt take long to get out of range.

When hunting in a group, we always bring along walkie talkies. Cell phone signals are a hit or miss out in the woods.
