Loose gun safety

My 30-06's safety is kinda loose, is this something i should g get fixed or is this just normal?

If the safety stays where you put it, it's fine. If "loose" means it's flopping back and forth, "on and "off", take it to a gunsmith or send it back to the maker to be repaired. Don't use the gun in that condition.

It might help to know what Make and Model rifle you own and how old it is.

It's a remington 770.30-06, i've had it for about a year. I bought it brand new at academy. I hope that helps.

That helps a lot. The 770 is a cheaply made model that Remington came out with to compete with some of the other less costly rifles like the Mossberg line. There are plastic parts that have replaced what would normally be steel and I've heard of more than one case of people actually breaking the bolt on fairly new guns. It really is designed for entry level hunters that are not going to be using it that much IMHO and if you plan on doing otherwise I would suggest you sell it and move up the ladder with a better made rifle. Right now the Savage line is about as good as you can get for the money they want. If your safety is not moving off the safe position unless you intentionally move it, I would say that you're okay. If it is anything other than that, I would take it back and require they make the necessary repairs at their cost with a gun that new. Good luck and be safe!!!
