Default LEUPOLD VX-II 4-12X50MM - Rings - Hi or Med

Hello everyone. I have a general question on if I can mount Med size rings on a Rem 7MM Mag w/ a 50MM Leupold. I'm hearing that I need to go w/ high rings but hear conflicting information on what will for. I would like to go as low as possible. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

the closer you can get your scope to the rifle the better imo

med. should work, however the tube may not be long enough without using offset rings. I needed offset rings to mount a 3.5x10x50 on a 7em 700 7 mag, and according to leupold, the 4x12 is the same size and length as a 3x9 which is probably the same length as the 3.5x10.

Personally, I would call up Leupold up about this question. It's their business. They know what guns their scopes fit with what rings.

I never hesitate to call a manufacturer with my questions. Especially a company like Leupold. They love to help.
