Default Hunting clothes (Pants) opinions..

I am looking for a new pair of hunting pants. Something that is isulated, and dry (waterproof). I hunt in Wisconsin and every year my wool pants get wet, cold etc.... At this point i don't care what they are or who makes them.. i am sick of being cold everytime it rains etc.... Wood is supposed to keep you warm even when wet. for some reason wet or dry i freeze.

Can anyone suggest something that works?

I have these and absolutely love them. I'd never get "pants" again after trying bibs.

my problem with bibs is we spend alot of time "driving" deer as well. Sitting i think they work well, but moving thru dense cover they would be too heavy i think.

That is more of a question of what weight pants you need - I'd still always go with bibs. Comfy.

I looked at the pants you mentioned. I am looking for new ones as well, but is there anything cheaper? I don't go as often as I hope too.

Also, how long do those usually last you?

Thanks

I love Microtex series from Cabelas. They are warm and quiet. As far as waterproof I would say they are water resistant. I have never gotten completly soaked while hunting but have used them during a constant drizzle/rain and have never had a problem. If I know there is a chance of heavy rain I will carry my Gore-Tex rain pants and pull them over these pants. This also helps with the wind too.

I am glad someone else feels Sunday is a bad day for me to hunt and this is why I can't hunt on Sundays.
