I just purchased a used Nikon 4.5-14x40 scope for my T/C Encore .270. This is a older model with the front parallax adjustment. I see the new model Nikon scope has the side parallax adjustment. Is this any big deal? Anyone had much use with this model? I plan on using for deer South Dakota and Wisconsin. thanks Joe
No big deal. One of the bigger advantages of the side parallax is that it's easier to get to. It's an improvement but your older model should work just fine.
I picked up a new 3X9 Nikon scope for my rifle two seasons ago. After owning Leupold scopes for years, I have to admit, I prefer the Leupold brand much better. Much clearer!!!

Depends on which Nikon you got. The Monarchs are brighter than VXII's by a bit....
You better put IMO after that comment, otherwise you'll have all the Loupy fans going wild.
