Default What " NEW" gear did you buy this Spring??

Saw this on another site. What " NEW" gear did you buy this spring that you liked??
What " NEW" gear did you buy and didn' t like??

Here is what I bought and liked:

1) Buckwing Folding Turkey & Deer Seat - Legs fold and each leg is adjustable which makes uneven ground a thing of the past. Very comfortable and easy to transport. Setup quick and easy. Love this seat!

2) Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend - Laser range finder. Light weight and will fit in your pocket. Waterproof and single hand operation. Great tool.

3) Magellan SporTrak Map GPS - Very user friendly and has a large screen. Can download maps from your computer. Small and light but locks on satellites quick and in heavy cover with no problem. Wish I had this in Texas with me. Another great tool.

4) Streamlight Stylus " Green" LED flashlight - Small the size of a pen but powerful. Will not spook game but a human can see it for a mile or more. Everybody should own one of these, their that good.

5) Browning Packable Gore-Tex Rain Suit - Worth every penny. Really needed this here in New York this year!

Magellan Platinum GPS. A lot like the SporTrak but can take a memory card. Nice, not too heavy, good satellite pickup, nice screen.

I bought a Stylus Streamlight too and I agree, everybody should have one. It' s one of the few things I' ve bought that works exactly like they said it would.

The coolest thing is Extreme Shot treestand video camera mount. Lets you mount a video camera to the front of your stand or blind to tape your own hunts, it works great and I cant wait to get some good hunt footage. I also bought:

Remington 870 exp. 3 1/2 in turkey skyline camo. awesome

stylus streamlight- works great

Feildline turkey vest- a little hard to get things back in the pockets

coleman 12v cooler- works fine, but small good for a couple lunches

tasco spotting scope- havent used it yet

Just got a new Gunslinger climber.Still have to paint it. Looks like it' s going to be a good stand.
Also bought a small pair of Stiener binoculars.Small and compact. They only weigh 6 ozs.Instead of lugging my big heavy Redfield' s around.

How do you like that Gunslinger treestand? A couple boys I hunt with used one for the first time last year and were so impressed they plan on getting one for themselves.

VAHunter,To answer your question. I' ve only tried the GS one time on my property.I have two pine trees and they are just to big. They bearly fit between the guide rails. The blades were in the last set of hole and had it tilted up quite a bit.I did get in it and even though it was not level it feels very comfortable.JRH Sports Industries has a Off Season sale that runs from Jan1-April 30th. It' s 40.00 off each stand bought. There was a price increase when the sale ended the end of April. 10.00 increase. I bought the 350# GS and it was 209.00.+15.00 shipping I also had to pay the FL Sales Tax.They do come unpainted.I called JRH a couple times before actually buying it.If you have any questions the guy will be happy to answer them.Soon they will have a website. I talked to him yesterday, and asked a question.I' m trying to find time to practice with it.I asked several questions to a guy on another site who has a GS.He swears by it.The little bit I tried it , it seems like it' s going to be a good stand for all day hunts.

Love my new eTrex Legend. Screen is very small, but easy enough to use. Small size is a great advantage when hunting. Came in very handy during turkey season.

Old model of the Mossy Oak 20 pocket elite vest. Its new to me, worked great.

Star dot turkey choke tube, .668 ID

Assorted turkey calls, love that Ol' Yeller by Knight and Hale. Really fires ' em up.
