Default Wyoming Saw

I just got back from an elk hunt. Several elk were downed by my group, and I got to do a lot of sawing of bones with my Wyoming Saw. I have the original, smaller saw with about a 12" blade. I see that there is now a Wyoming Saw II available that has a longer blade -- maybe about 18". This saw worked great. I also have a saw in a KodiPak knife set from Knives of Alaska. Not to beat up on their product, but I tried using that saw on one of my elk bones back home -- after I had cleaned and put up the Wyoming Saw -- and the KodiPak saw was not nearly as efficient and well suited to sawing bone as the Wyoming Saw. I highly recommend this Wyoming Saw.

Also, has anyone used both the Wyoming Saw I and the new larger Wyoming Saw II? If so, what do you think about the Wyoming Saw II compared with the Wyoming Saw I?

congrats on the elk. i've had the 18" blade for a long time now and i too highly recommend the Wyoming saw. i have only used it on deer, a lot of deer though. i haven't used the 12" wyoming saw, but i have used other saws with a short blade. i prefer the 18" blade because of the longer cutting stroke. i feel that it would come in real handy on larger game like elk. get the 18"
