I've used a GPS to locate a stand in the dark but I'm not sure I feel any safer carrying one.

i use my gps for my wifes piece of mind.I hunt by myself most of the time and i hunt puplic land so when i find a place to hunt i text her the coordinates on her phone so if i am not home at the given time she knows were to look. So yes i feel safer.

Stolen stands - I have chain and a great lock on all my stands.

Sound as if a very well hidden trail cam might be in order. Better than a GPS.

He's looking for a Lojak™ for his stand, such devices exist, but nearly all of them cost more than your stand, and the thief will keep it too. Next time invest in a climber.

I've lost one ladder stand,2 hang on stands and 1 hunting blind to scumbag thieves.2 of the stands had heavy chain and good locks. They must have had a good set of boltcutters to get them.
I believe in karma so they have some payback coming.
