I plan on buying of these stands soon. I have never bought or used a climber before and need some information on it. How does it climb (like can you sit and climb, or do you have to hang on it like a pullup and lift legs or what im kinda confused). Doesit grip good on hardwoods or just pines. And any other information you would like to give me on this stand please. Thanks.

Yes you sit and climb..I have the Viper SS. The coated cable used on the summit will limit you on some smooth barked trees, like other types of climbers as well. Your climber comes with a movie to show how to use it. Practice in your yard as much as it takes to get comfortable using it. And Use A Safety Harness.

I love my Goliath. Most comfortable climber I have had. Very easy to climb with and lots of room for us big guys.
The viper is nice too, but not as much room.

i have the goliath and i love it, for the extra pound of weight over the viper, its well worth the extra room. The goliath weighs 21lbs and standard viper 20lbs. If i were buying a new one right now i would buy the new Titan, it weigh 26lbs and has even more room.
