Default Trophy Rock

Does anoyone have any experience using a Trophy Rock? How well did it work compared to other minerals you have tried?

Just another way to separate the hunter from his money. Stick to hunting basics and the deer will come. You don't need bait or gimicks to kill deer.

It seems that different areas get different results with different minerals. Your probably just going to have to try it out. I bought 2 this summer and they tore them both up. I had one fastened to a tree stump and they actually tore it off. I found it about 15 feet away on the ground.
Stuff like deer-cane etc. that needs to be mixed with water usually don't work well on my property because the soil is poor and it doesn't hold it in very well.

Thanks for the info guys. I agree that just plain trying them out is the best way to tell what works in your own woods. That must have been a pretty agressive deer that tore one off a tree stump and moved it 15 feet!

i have never used the trophy rock but if you take the time to look at whats in those types of salt licks, deer cain and etc you will find it is about 99% salt with some trace minerals. you can buy a 50 pound bag of trace mineral at any feed store for around 5$. Ive had good luck with deer cain but i can get a whole 50 pound bag for 5 dollars and it seems to work just as good or better. all the guys in my area seem to really like it. good luck with your choice.

mineral supplements have nothing to do with killing deer. it is about year round managing the deer. i have only seen a fawn once in many years come to a mineral lick in the fall and winter months. put it out in the spring ands replenish halfway through the summer. put your trail cameras on it if you want to get great pictures. as far as the rock goes ive never used one but you can get plain salt pretty cheap.
