i don't really know what you mean by walking but when i'm deer hunting: a full magazine of whatever gun im carrying, a knife, cell phone, an extra sweatshirt, canteen, and some snacks all wadded up in a nice little backpack.
if you mean just going for a walk, my cell phone and a house key

30ft Rope

more water
water purifier
box of shells
also store my fanny in pack and only take the pack on rare occcasions, but always leave it in vehicle or stashed where I plan to eat my lunch.
