Default Gortex leak?

I have bought two sets of snake boots from Bass Pro shops. One set was made by Rocky and the other by Redhead. Both sets of boots are GORTEX lined and both have leaked. Bass Pro has been excellent in there response, changing out the boots quickly. Has anyone else had a problem with GORTEX lined boots leaking or is this a fluke?

I had the same problem & kept returning my boots because I thought they leaked. I then bought a pair of ruber boots made by cabelas & they leaked.

I discovered that my feet sweat and thats why my socks felt damp.

It is hard to tell if your boots are leaking if your feet sweat a lot. As far as gore-tex leaking, my gore-tex work boots usually never stay waterproof past 3 months until I tried a pair of USA made danners and wow what a difference, they stayed waterproof for a year while working in them daily. Now I don't know if you can expect the same performance from the imported danners because I bought a pair of pronghorns last september to turkey hunt in for the following spring and by the middle of turkey season they were leaking (could have been that briar thicket I got in) and I first thought is was sweat until one day I filled the boot itself with water and water came through the boot in three different places only problem was that I waited till the warranty was out to do this. So I emailed danner to see how much it would cost to put new gore-tex in them and they replied to send them in. So I did and they gave me a new pair. But I have noticed that the pronghorns don't wick sweat away like the USA danners do either. I guess overall I'm a danner fan but mainly for the USA made danners.

I had one pair of Danner bootsthat leaked. I took them back and they were replaced. The Goretex fabricwon't leak, but the seams will if not sealed properly. This was the case with the Danner's.

Not yet.I My first Gore Tex boots are/were Danners. But expect it to happen. Most boots are now made in China and although quality control is getting better, it is nowhere near where HH brown and danner is

I have Irish Setter Big Game Tracker II's lined with GORE-TEX and have not had a leak yet, I am very impressed with these boots. I have been fully submerged for a good 10 seconds up to my calf and never leaked. They also keep me extremely warm since they have 1,000g Thinsulate.
