Default Treestand Straps

Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this question... I have been having trouble climbing down with my stand - going up is no problem but my feet aren't secured very tightly to the platform, so it makes it very hard to descend. It'sdifficult to tilt the foot platform when my feet are 'loose'- the two straps are the nylon type - with adjusters on the end of each strap. Last time out it took maybe 2 minutes to climb up about 25 feet and almost 30 minutes to come down - with lots of headache. Any suggestions how to make my climb down easier??? Thanks.
