Default V of the tree treestand?

Hey guys,
Does anyone know of any treestands that fit in the V of a tree? My dad finally got into a tree to bowhunt and just stood in the V of a tree. I think it would be a lot safer if I could get an actual stand up there for him....let me know. thanks

If he's gonna do that he should at least make himself a vee board to sit/stand on . Basically it's a section of 2"x 12" cut to fit the distance between the two limbs of the fork that has a vee notch cut into each end . Attach a ratchet or cam strap to each end to secure it to the limbs , or just nail it to the limbs . I don't know of any manufactured stands such as you've described , perhaps he would consider a ladder stand instead .

I usea Bear River Crotch Stand and love it.Lightwieght and portable, I carry it with me most places I still hunt. When the need arises, I find a Y-crotched tree and go up.

They are not manufactured any longer so finding them can be difficult.I have 3 and will not part with them ,but they show up on ebayevery sooften and usually go for between $50-65. each. Bidding can get fierce, and they don't go cheap compared to what the original cost of $24.95 was.

This one is not mine and I don't have any affiliation with him/her. Just passing along a tip.
