I have an expensive Fenwick raingear that I have had for 15+ years. I don't use it much, but had it out this past weekend in a heavy storm. To my amazement, the water came right through the material as if it had no rainproof properties at all. Has anyone heard of this happening? It's not Goretex, but some other copycat material. It was a very expensive coat, so I'm surprised this happened.
Atsko Sno Seal or a heavy coat of Scotchgard will fix the problem . Waterproof is not forever unless you buy real Goretex , all of the knock offs are coated with something that will eventually wear out .

kevin1 is right... there is a reason why gore-tex is so damn expensive... its the only one that will hold up as long as the person wearing it... next time don't waste your money on the knock-offs.... buy the best stuff you can afford and take care of it and it will take care of you.
