I would recommend either a Lone Wolf or Ameristep.

altho I hunt primarily from a climber (buckshot equalizer), I'd go with something from summit. seat alone is reason enough to buy. my climbers have not the most comfy of seats, my only complaint about it. loc ons, I love my api or gorilla kong. they are not light, but super comfortable. I'd take the kong over the api though.

I vote for the Lone Wolf Alpha climber and the Loggy Bayou Both have padded seats with backs and weigh20 lbs or less. Both backpack flat and only need a couple of bungee cords to hold together solidly.I had a summit and its seat was padded but it was a pain to get into the packing phase because of the way it had to be put together. If you hunt until it is dark then you maybe there longer than you anticipate. I prefer stands that fold flat and pack flat like two slices of bread in a loaf.

I have a Summit Viper and I really like the comfort. I have a friend that I hunt with and he has the API Grand Slam which is a very nice stand as well. It is a bit heaver and bulky. It tends to make more noise than the Summit.

If youare looking for a hang on stand, look at the Loggy Bayou Monarch (Very comfortable) or the Gorilla stand.

IMO, Iwould stay away from Ameristep. I have a hang onAmeristep and I hate it.

Grand Slam Magnum Extreme
The new Grand Slam Magnum Extreme is designed and engineered for the biggest, toughest, most demanding hunter in the woods. API required a tested load of 700 pounds to rate this stand with its 350 lbs capacity with our safety factor built in. We increased the specially-formulated high density padding for added comfort. Once you're settled in, you won't want to come back down. The oversized seat platform easily accommodates gun or bow hunters and the triple cushion Quick Attach seating height adjusts in seconds. America's favorite big man stand has padded armrests, new Sure-Grip chain, and platform.

I personally have an API grand slam extreme that I have used very heavily for the last 3 seasons. It's comfortable for long sits, but is a bit bulky and about 20 pounds. It's also noisy putting up and taking down due to the chains. Once the plastic starts wearing off (and it will) the chain against the frame is somewhat clanky. My son has the bowhunter extreme with is lighter but has the same noise problem.
Just a few hours ago I ordered a new climber, the equalizer. What I'm going to love (hopefully) about this one is the ability to adjust the leveling on the way up the tree and thus eliminating the guess work of how far to tilt it when getting started.
I'll let you know how it is once I get it.
Good Luck.

Any stand that carries the TMA approval has to go through the same tests. I know what stand tests the highest!
