I use the monarch 10x42 and have been very happy with them.

I have owned or tried both. In my opinion both sets of bins are worth their cost. There are two main differences between these bins. The Sporters do not have phase coating on their roof prisms and the objective diameter is 6 mm smaller. In practical terms though the image available through the Sporters is very good for the price it isn't quite as bright or as clear as the Monarchs. Only you can really determine if the cost is worth the gain.

Oh, I also forgot, the Sporters are listed as "water resistant" and not waterproof like the Monarchs. Again, you have to decide if that is important.
