Default Binoculars under $100

I have yet to get a pair of binoculars. What style, brand, and power do yall recommend? I know I could spend $1600 on some Swarovskis but I need to keep this purchase under $100. What canI get for that price?

That would depend on what style of binoculars you would want to purchase. There are many compact sized binos that I would consider recommending based on durability and image quality within that price range....Bushnell 10 or 8x26 Legend reverse porro compact, Nikon Prostaff ATB, Nikon Travelite, etc.... However, if you wanted a full sized bin then you may run into a bit of a problem. Producing a decent quality full sized bin with acceptable, in my opinion, image quality is very difficult to do in this price range. If waterproofing isn't an issue then the Nikon 7x35 Action series is very highly regarded for the price. If you do want waterproof and the roof prism design then possibly the Bushnell Buckhorn 10x42. The design is relatively rugged and the image quality is pretty good for a roof in that price range. Both the Nikon and the Bushnell are priced right at $100.

Try the Nikon compacts from wally's at about $80, or go to e-bay and you can get a pair of full-size Burris landmarks for around $70. Both are crisp and clear.

Lorge. Go to www.shopsportsmansguide.com and do a search on Brunton. They have a model (I think it is the light tech) for 79.99. Brunton makes some pretty good binocs. Also check out the Barska line which they carry. Both are 10x40 I think. They also have it's own model called the Guide Gear binoculars which look pretty good. They are 10x40, have bak4 prisms, are waterproof, and fully coated. They cost 50 bones. I believe all of these are waterproof with at least fully coated optics. The tasco world class are decent for the money. You can find cheap ones on ebay. Also look at a used pair of Bausch and Lomb discoverer or dicovery series on ebay.
I think the light techs by Brunton are a steal at 79.99 cause they usually cost around 170 bucks.

Lorge. I just noticed that the bushnell h2o binocs are on sale at Bass Pro Shop for 79.99. sEEMS LIKE A GOOD DEAL But I think the lite techs from Sportsman's Guide I mentioned earlier are a better deal.
Let me know what you get.

The Criggster knows. Can't beat the Nikon compact 10 power camo binos for around $80.00.

i bought nikon 10-25 compacts at buckmaster expo. lightweight, water resistant, realtree camo, slightly rubberized grip, i dont think you can beat them for 80 bucks even thought i got them for 70 by sweet talking sales rep.
