Default What's your favorite hunting pack?

Hi, I have used a belt pack for the last couple of years, but now as i am away at school and am hunting public lands, i need more room for my gear. I am looking for a pack that i can secure my bow to and also and more importantly, secure extra layers and a set of rattling antlers. My question is have any of you found a pack like this? What is your pack of choice? I kind of liked the cabelas scout and the predator g2 day pack. Thought the badlands packs look nice, but have never had one in my paws. Any help would be great.

thanks,
cabage

Hi, I am a recent lucky owner of several Badlands packs. I bought the RT Stealth Daypack withhydro pack, and The Monster Fanny Pack, this thing is huge, 7 exterior pockets holds plenty of gear. With this I also chosethe Badlands Water Strap for extra hydrostorage.
You might want to see this stuff at:

the high quality is outstanding, you really must see this stuff to understand the craftsmanship, and unconditional lifetime warranty...

I have to recommend the Eberlestock packs. I think that these packs are very well 'engineered' and could not be happier with my purchase. The thing that set these packs apart is a scabbard that will hold a scoped rifle. Check them out at www.eberlestock.com, you will be glad that you did.

Regards,

GS

I also have the badlands stealth and the monster fanny pack.Excellent quality and attention to detail! The stealth will be on my back a lot this year. The way the top of the pack opens and closes is awesome! You can fit a ton of stuff in that medium sized pack.

Lately I've been using a Redhead brand pack. Its really an overgrown fanny pack with shoulder straps and 4 additional buddy-locs for optional pouches. It has two main compartments big enough to hold raingear, canteen, MRE (or lunch) a few other smaller pockets for accessories, tie down straps for coat (or bow), and will accept a hydration bladder. The optional buddy-loc pouches come in several configurations including water bottle, gps case, etc.
the belt is wide and stiff and supports your lower back. It is also removable. The shoulder straps are about 2" wide and padded. You can really load this one up and the weight is evenly supported on your shoulders and waist.

Ya Know, I have been making due with a madden pack whcih is made for backpacking. It is dull grey so it is not a bad color for where I hunt. As a day pack, I have a cheap 20 dollor cammo pack. I think I need to step up to a real hunting pack. I will be watching this topic for some ideas. I remember a really nice on from beretta that was reviewed in the NRA magazine a year or so ago. Seems like it was about 100 bucks. Seemed expensive then but upon retrospect, doesn't seem so bad

Mine is a expandable fanny pack with the shoulder harness and midline belt. Ithas 2 main large comparments and five smaller sub pockets. It also has the sinch straps on the top and front to allow one to pack misc items(such as spare coat, rain gear, etc). I bought it afew years back at cabela's, can't recall the brand name though.

I have carried my old uncle mikes cordura pack for over 15 years, but after looking at some badlands packs in a store last month,I am thinking that I will be using one of their fanny packs next year. They appear to be well designed and of high quality.
