Default Which Scope Nikon Or Leupold

Which scope should I get. I am going for overall value for my money. I want something that performs well in all situations. Low light, High light. Quick Focus. Something that is very durable. I have narrowed it down to 2, but will also open up any other suggestions. The two I am looking at are the Nikon 3.3-10 X 44 Monarch UCC Riflescope and the Leupold 3-9X50 VX-II Riflescope. I am shotting a remington 7600 30-06 if that matters. Thanks

I switched to Nikon on all my rifles, love them. Clear, sharp and bright!

I'm sticking with Leupold - they fixed one for me once and gained a customer for life.

I have both Nikon's and Leupold's, eye relief goes to the leupy's, brightness and clarity the Nikon's. That's not saying that all Nikon's are better JMO.

Thanks. I think I'm going to give the Leupold a try. Should I go with the standard mounts or a different type. Also, which height of rings should I go with. I have never put one on myself. Thanks

For a 7600, I would go with the one piece Weaver base with Weaver Medium rings.

Gotta agree about the Nikons. I have used a variety of their optics and have yet to be trully disappointed in any of them or their service.

I had the Leupold VX-II 3-9x50mm and was a very nice scope but my Nikon Gold out performed it even with the 42 mm Obj. lens. I"™m not sure how the Monarch UCC would compare to the Gold but they should be very close. I would think that the Leupold customer service would be exceptional from what everyone has be saying although I have never had to deal with them. Good luck with you new scope.
