German Shorthair is the way to go!! The right blood lines will get a very versitile dog that hunts close and is a great pet. Watch what you buy some are bred to run big wwhile others make nice foot hunting dogs. I have some real nice young started dogs that will be great for the upcomming season let me know if you are interested. Pics available

We have placed our Llewellin setters in Pennsylvania and the guys there are very pleased with their ability, compact size and devoted family temperament. For a first time owner all you need to supply is obedience and the natural ability of these dogs makes you look like a pro with very little training. Happy to show you photos of our competition and family hunting buddies any time! Good luck!

Check into the Pudelpointer breed, they are super upland and water dogs as well as a great dog to live with.
