Most hog hunters use game cams I don't because of never done it,during our bad drouth they left my little acreage I am allowed to hunt here in North Texas.I put out corn no sign of hogs.Then I put out cheap dog food several times and they started to show up ,baited the trap and caught a couple of loads.Six in one batch and 2 in another.All out of the same sounder(I think) small pigs and skinny.Two things I can say about hogs definately you can't predict what they are going to do,they are food driven.We are over ran with hogs in North Texas.Lot of investor owned land and government land that really hard to hunt so they sit out there and produce piglets. I kill all I can.15 so far this year.
we caught over 1000 hogs on this one property...sometimes they leave, but they come back. and usually at least a couple stay. usually lone males...but the sows will be back with the whole family sooner, or later.
5-20 acres is the same thing
we see pigs on 2001 acres of a 2000 acre place.

if you had hogs how do you know that they are gone or not ?
