“The decomposition of the carcasses appeared to range from a couple of days to over a week or two,” Deputy Cloyd said. “The carcasses of the baby calves were located less than 1/8 mile from I-40, Hwy 66, and 1910 road. By not knowing the cause of the death of the baby calves, Pettit is believed to be in violation of Oklahoma Statute 21-1223 because they are within one-quarter mile of several major roadways, which is a health and safety violation for the public.”
