Default They're Back!!!!

We trapped and killed over 40 hogs on this place between December, 2010 and May of this year. After that the game camera picked up a few solitary boars but that was all. Brought the camera home yesterday. These hogs showed up 11 different nights in one month. Its time to drag the trap out again.

On Ft. Sill and the Wildlife Refuge most of the hogs have Eurasian boar blood and it's unusual to find one that's not black. Yesterday morning we took a big boar out of a trap SW of Lawton. It was a spotted Poland China. That hog had been castrated when young, he also had his tusks clipped. That area has wild hogs of every description: Watched 20 wild hogs going through a field during muzzleloader deer season: There were banded hogs, (Hampshires i think), red hogs, white hogs, black hogs and spotted hogs.

This might be a good opportunity for you to establish a Guide operation hunting hogs. I would love to come down and shoot as many of them as I could.

That would require leasing the hunting rights to several thousand acres of land. Numerous feeders would be required so the hogs and the hunters were in the same place at the same time. At least 40 acres would have to be fenced and stocked with hogs for the clients "spot and stalk".

If the business prospered one would be forced to buy hogs from trappers. At that point one would become part of the hog problem.

There is a big hog hunting operation near that place of ours. It's called All About U Ranch:

Hey Falcon.

A group of hunters I am with are hunting near Lawton for hogs on public land this March. Trying to gather a lot of info on good public land places to hunt. Would you have any suggestions since it looks like you are in this area?

i never hunted public land in OK. There are some WMAs but they are restricted to the use of rimfire rifles or small shot outside of deer season. i sometimes hunt on Ft. Sill. Most of Ft. Sill is restricted to shotguns and slugs or muzzleloaders. Ft. Sill usually has a hog season that opens about the first week in Feb.
