I guess it is just me but I never see the hogs you guys do. Maybe it is because of the area I am in but the biggest we have taken was around 250+. i do have a game cam pic of the largest pig I have ever seen but I would like some reference as to how big a pig looks when he is pushing 400 pounds. i have included a pic of a pretty big pig for Florida and he goes about 185. I am 6'2 and 220 pounds. Would a 400+ pounder be twice his size? I just want to see some 400 pound pigs for size reference.

Thank you and go whack Wilbur.

There are very few 400 pound hogs out there. A couple of years ago i killed a huge American Landrace feral sow that pegged the 350 pound scales field dressed. That sow had not been feral for more than 4-6 months.

I would give anything to shoot me a monster like that!

what ya got hangin in that pic is perfect eating right there...yes a 400 lb pig would be 2X as big as that one or more..sometimes they grow long, and sometimes they are short round *******...i seen a 350 lb ..all head and chest...look like a 200...and a long one onetime i thought was sure to be well over 300lbs, was almost 300 lbs...i had a 600-900lb hog fold my trap over like a beer can!!!!and let all the others out...they are like rats , if their head fits, they will get in.

Big boars are generally pretty sneaky for one. Like that big buck, they don't grow real big by sticking their neck out often.

For myself, I've never seen a monster boar but people I hunt with have. I've jumped a few, spooked a few, but never had a shot on one. In any case, I've always been told a big old gnarly wild boar is about the toughest meat you can get. Our goal was always to take a smallish sow for the quality of meat.

I heard a biologist on a show about hogs say that it's nearly impossible for a wild hog to get above 350 pounds. There just isn't enough nutritious food for them to achieve that size.

hogzilla was a domestic

halfbakedi420 12-10-2009 07:17 AM

DNA testing was performed, revealing that Hogzilla was a hybrid of wild boar and domestic swine (Hampshire breed).[2] However, compared to most wild boars and domestics, Hogzilla is still quite a large and extraordinary specimen.[3]

all pigs were domestic at 1 time...
