I live in sw mo so I might be able to help. It was my understanding that the woods around Stockton lake belong to the corps of engineers and that hunting there was strickly off limits. Some one put in the paper *a LONG time ago* that they were afraid of even bow hunters would be accidentally shooting the trail riders/runners/ walkers and campers all the time if it wasn't put a stop to.
And so that is my understanding of the situation. Granted I have not looked at Stockton Lake conservation regulations to find out for shure.
Should be able to find out if its legal through the MO Department of Conservation website though. Im going there to look my self.
