My son and I just started hunting deer and hogs in the Bankhead Nat'l Forest. We decided to stay out of the WMAs due to them only having 5-6 days for hunting deer.

You can hunt hogs in any AL WMA area during normal hunting seasons using firearms legal for that specific hunting season. This means you can use deer guns during deer season (5-6 days max for the WMA) or squirrel guns during squirrel season. Yea right, I'm going to hunt hogs with a .22 - moronic, IMO.

In two days last Friday and Saturday, we saw a total of 9 deer, all does except for one buck that walked right past me, but no sign of hogs yet.

Good luck.

There are some hogs in the Little River management, though I don't know how many. If you go a little further southwest, the Hollins Management area has lots of hogs. I also have found hog wallows in the Choccolocco management area, though I've never seen the hogs. I have seen catch pens there where the game wardens are trying to catch them.
