anybody have any advice on a good place for a public land hog hunt? I would like to avoid paying a large fee to have a guide show me a hog to shoot at? Or does anyone know of a private land hunt that is self guided? this would be my first hog hunt and I dont know much about it
There is plenty of good public land to hunt hogs. The best thing to do would be to pick somewhere and then check out that states DNR site. They usually run special seasons on hogs but most states will allow you to take as many as you want during deer season. Florida is absolutely full of hogs but like I said, you have to abide by the WMA regulations.

Where are you going to return to when you get back from Afghanistan? I live in Illinois (southern). I have a place in Kentucky that has wild hogs roaming the hillsides, southeast of Paducah.
