Default Hog calls

I have been hunting before and shot them during spot and stalk and over corn. Can you call hogs? What call do you use and how effective is it? Do you normaly get big or small pigs doing this?

There is also a video on youtube but I could not find it where a guy calls in hogs from way out. I have never tried a call before but if you catch a baby pig alive it WILL bring in the mommas.

I totally agree, calls scare more hogs off than they bring in.

The boar hunter wild Hog -N- Distress is designed to imitate the distress calls of yound and adult wild hogs as well as javelina. Wild hogs will fight to the death to protect their young & immediately charge into the distress calls of other wild hogs.

Like the others have said, they scare off more than they call in. Sometimes, large groups will respond. Small groups and singles will mostly run off.

Even catching a sow's piglet will not guarantee they will come to you. More times than not, when either I or my dogs catch a one, the sows just keep running with the survivors in tow.

i have seen that usually the biggest one will make an attempt to "distract " you by charging, but the hogs will run oft and dont care who is left behind!!!!
