can a .410 slug put down a pig???
 

Want to try this gun out and put some meat on the table. Could a .410 slug take a pig down in a clean ,semi quick kill ??? If so what would be max range??? Thanks all , hope you had a good Easter:)

paka,yes a Hog can be killed with the .410, but I would stay under 50yds with the 2.5" Rem or Win Slugs. I would also stay under 75yds with 3" Fed and Brenneke slugs. These recommendations work great on deer....On Hogs your shots will have to be more precise....I favor the Winchester 9410 with the 24" barrel for hunting...

Really am glad I can use this on a hunt. My Dad and Grampa will be smilling greatly up in heaven upon me and my son. Wonder if Jesus will give them a funny look as they watch over our hunt;)

You might want to check with your state Fish and Game Department. I know that in California the regulations for hunting hogs with a shotgun specify a minimum of 16 guage.

Im gonna keep on um with my bow , going this sunday . But if the time comes where a rifle is to be used I'll be ready. Went an got the .410 ammo and slugs for my 12 gauge. Thanks for all the help guys , hope to arrow an old tusker this weekend;)

got ammo for my .410 and also got ammo (slugs) for my 12 gauge .:eek:
