Several years ago when I "actively" hunted hogs, I would bury corn soaked in cherry koolaid to draw the hogs in, and supposedly, the smell of the koolaid would draw the hogs. If you just poured the corn on the ground, it would be gone within hours, but with it buried 2-3 ft deep, it would take them a couple of days to root it all out.

I honestly can't say how much the koolaid played into the equation, but I did kill quite few hogs during that time.

Koolaid is cheap, so why not give it a try?

Putting grape Koolaid in corn works well for hogs and deer here in SC, especially when you are establishing a new feed site. The fine powder gets picked up in the slightest of breezes and gets the attention of any game downwind. I have also used it to flavor my sourmash corn when fermenting it in buckets before dumping it at the feedsite.

Just about anything that smells sweet, rotten, or disgusting drives them crazy.. That's why we call them pigs.

So, Russell smells pretty rotten. How come he doesn't kill more pigs?
