Default Myakka forest report

Well, Although I had absolutely NO exp hog hunting I figured I would go have a look.

Well I spent 11 hours out and about covering prolly a good 4-5 miles scouting (brought the bow just in case) but just trying to learn mainly.

Well, I found TONS of hog ID's rooting EVERYWHERE that was absoluetley demolished in areas , lots of scat, tons otracs but only saw 2 hogs!

1st one was out bout 50-60 yrds tried to get in for a better shot but @ about 40 y9rds he spotted me and got away (chalk that up to inexperience).

2nd was @ ten till 6 and was getting dark was only a 20- maybe 25 yrd shot but declined due to it getting dark and I didnt wanna jus loose him to the night.

However the day was not all bad I scored two desent rabbits and was happy with that for dinner.

Anyways all in all I didn't consider it a bad day for my FIRST crossbow hunt.

Oh yeah I also met a real kewl guy that was out hunting as well (has like 10yrs exp hog hunting). I just offered him a few beers that night andafter thathe was more than willing to meet me up there again and show me a few things. So I am going out again this coming weekend with and exp'd hunter and maybe I will learn a bit more.

That's what I love about hunting. It's not always bagging your game but the knowledge gained each time out. Great story thanks for sharing it.
