Me and my dad have a ton of hogs on our lease but we never see them in the day. Right a dark they all come out and go to the pond on our lease which has a feedernext to the pond. We want to try to hunt with our bows and we do have lights on our sights but what kind of lights(spot lights) can we use that won't scare them when we shine it on them? Also, we have this red light thats pretty bright that we thought we could put on the ground or attach under a tree and put corn around it. Would this work and not scare them off?
We have a red light up in a tree over looking a feeder and they seem to ignore it. When we had the white light there they lerned as soon as it came on there would be shooting. You could also try some flourescent sights on your bow with a good moon you might be able to shoot wthout a light. We normally hunt with rifles and if I have any moonlight at all I can see well enough to shoot without a light. Where our feeder is there is sand all around so they stand out against the lighter colored sand.

I just have a 2 D Cell Mag flash light that I drilled a hole in the end cap and put a bolt in the same size as my stabilizer, you can get the different lens kit with the red lens.

RE: Advise on hunting hogs at night
Full moons, or red lights. Get a scope with a good OA, My favorite is a 56mm. Go out and put a red light in a tree/feeder/over water, or where ever you see the hogs.
For a bow, do as Ausie said. The mag lights make a great hog light. Approach form down wind. Hogs dont see good, but they sure will smell you. Keep a low profile while approaching them. Crawling always works best. Set up and sling some arrows.

Haven't done it with a bow, but rifle hunting, I use moonlight. I try to put good optics on my rifles, so with even just a little moonlight, I can take hogs without the use of artificial light.
I also have a Mag-lite. It is the 6 D-cell one. It works great, but you better shoot quick when the light comes on!
