Default Hog Question

I live in Oklahoma and have joined a lease. I am going Saturday to scout for the coming deer season. The property has wild hogs on it so I"™m taking my rifle just in case. My question is this "¦ does anyone have links to some good articles on hog hunting. I"™ve only been on one hog hunt and it was several months ago around Rocksprings, TX. I saw some hogs from a blind but they were moving pretty fast and there were a LOT of cedar trees in the way. I also tried stalking on the last day. There was sign everywhere but I could never find them. Any help is much appreciated!

Also, I"™m new to this forum so "¦ hello ya"™ll.

Thanks Rev, but I"™ve done all the searches already. I would never post a question on a forum without doing my homework first. The problem is that 99% of what I find is outfitter ads and general statewildlife stats.

I"™m looking for methodology and tactics. There is a wealth of this type of information on deer but it"™s very scarce for hogs.

You can find a ton of info right here. Just go back and read the old pages here. Is there anything in particular you need to know?

[ol][*]Is it better to stalk or bait and wait?[*]Is camo much of a factor since their sight is so poor?[*]Do they return to wallows and rubs very often?[*]If there is sign everywhere but no pigs to be seen should I assume they are 100% nocturnal?

First of all.......Howdy!

1. If the hogs are many in the area, I would Bait & Wait..

2. I have never worn Camo while hog hunting..

3. Mostly early in the morning, late in the afternoon or at night.

4. Probably or you're spooking!

Thanks for the advice! I may also setup a stand and a big feeder early next year.

Has anyone here tried using a parabolic dish type listening device?

The hogs I have seen were very noisy. I wonder if something like this would help in stalking.
