Default New to hogs

OK, I have never hunted hogs before and neither has my cousin. But, he just got stationed in Ft. LW in MO and he says people talk about all the wild hogs and hunting them down there so he wants to go. I will be moving back to the Lake of the Ozarks in a few days so I will only be an hour or so away from him. We would both like to try it and looking for advice on how to go about hunting them. Also, any help on cleaning them and special precautions/procedures to take while doing so. Any advice will be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Go to this link. It's on Texas feral hogs, but you can glean some information from it.

I would guess there are some hog outfitters in that area & most hog hunts are very reasonable. If your cousin is hearing the talk he just has to ask the locals about where. Hounds & Chasing hogs are big in the south in certain areas AND TRUST me, quite an experience & not for the faint of heart. Other methods is stalking (I have never done) & hunting trails & over feeders (done both). My hog Bowhunting has been in Tx. & Ok. since that is great for off season Bowhunting & we do not have such in the midwest. Good Luck-it's great fun & addictive.
June 8th9th 2007-8 guys took 17 hogs of every size in 3 days. Shiloh, Ada, Ok.
