I might be goin on a hunt on my brother in laws place in Pittsburg Tx. soon and I live in East Dallas )Garland)so it'll be at least 2 hrs from headin home to finally in the garage. With night time temps in the high 70's maybe low 80's should I bleed a hog out anddress it out right away and get it on ice or will 2-3 maybe 4 hours till I get home be okay?
Mark you will have to get it on ice right away in these temps.
Agreed. With these higher temps, I would get it in a cool environment as soon as possible!

You don't have to go through all that with field dressing. Take out the back strap, the hams and shoulders and leave the rest. Put the meat in a plastic bag and have a cooler full of ice in your vehicle. I have afreezer in the garage stickily for fish and wild game. In the freezer I keep several old milk jugs with water frozen all the time. This way when I go hunting I have plenty of ice, and if you don't kill anything, just refreeze the jugs. Keep it simple... use rubber gloves.
