Default Stalking with a Thermacell

Is a Thermacell effective if you are moving around? And if so, do they make a belt attachment or some holdster?

Thanks,

I think it's designed to lay flat...I don't know how you'd transport it, while carring your gun/bow. I have never tried to move with it on. Usually I get eatin' up walking in and walking out...the first/last thing I do on stand is turn it on/off. Great for skeeters, doesn't work for Buffalo knats.

Steelhead31,

Depends on how fast you're moving and if the wind is blowing. They make a holster for the thermacell. WalMart sells them. You can go to the thermacell web site and buy the holster there.

you can use them while moving.just move slow while stalking.I always light mine when I get out of the truck.by the time I'm ready to head to my stand,it is working and the sketters go by the way.

they do make a holster for them, wal-mart has them.

Yeah, like everyone says, you can walk with them. If the wind is in my face I wear it in the front and vice versa. As long as the breeze is pushing the smoke towards you, you're good. If you wear it on your pack and there is a good breeze in your face, not so much. It blows the scent away from you.

I use mine on the 3-D course while in the holster. I just hang it on my hip quiver. (Gets a little HOT if you leave it on your belt)

Like others have said, as long as the wind is not blowing too hard and you don't walk too fast.

Thermacell says not to use it unless it is in the horizontal position, says it will, "shorten the life of the unit." Mine works fine after using it vertically several times.

I agree with SomersetArchery... I have had similar occasions.
